Elevate, a grant writing and nonprofit fundraising/development strategy firm in Washington, DC, is excited to be hiring a Data Associate. This is a full-time position in Elevate’s Operations Team, designed to ensure high-quality data management for our nonprofit clients, assist all staff at Elevate in better accessing the information they need, and help our firm grow.
The Data Associate will lead decision-making and administration/development for Elevate’s Salesforce database and related apps (including Conga, Invoices for Salesforce, and QuestionPro). A key focus is process creation using Salesforce’s process builder. The Data Associate will also provide training and onboarding for new staff in how to use Elevate’s data tools, support teams with data needs, and ensure Elevate’s Executive and Management teams have the data they need for decision-making. These efforts impact Elevate’s entire 58-person staff and play a vital role in ensuring all the company’s operations are effective and efficient.

As a member of the Operations team, the Data Manager will work closely with Elevate’s Management team, the Finance & Operations Manager, as well as Elevate’s President & Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Executive Officer & Founder. The position will report to Elevate’s President & COO..
As Elevate’s Data Associate, you will:
Lead Elevate’s Salesforce Committee to make strategic decisions regarding Salesforce, most often regarding field creation, process development, report creation, profile management, and similar, etc.
Lead Elevate’s Salesforce administration with our CEO, Operations staff, Management Team, and our Premium Salesforce Support team, including: user/profile set-up, field creation, process creation using Salesforce process builder, report creation, privacy settings, etc.
Lead Elevate’s Conga (Conga Composer and Conga Courier) administration/development with our CEO, Operations staff, Management Team, and Conga support
Seek out and collect regular feedback from all client-facing staff to determine data needs. Work with Elevate’s Client Partnerships department to prioritize the development of new tools to meet those needs.
Support Elevate’s Grant Writing Department with technical training and resources for all Coordinators, including:
Participating in onboarding and ongoing training for Coordinators in Salesforce
Supporting Coordinator growth on Performance Improvement Plans related to Salesforce or data management
Support developing training modules and resources for Coordinators, including video trainings
Support Elevate’s Client Partnerships Department with technical training and resources for all Directors, including:
Participating in onboarding and ongoing training for Director in Salesforce
Supporting Director growth on Performance Improvement Plans related to Salesforce or data management
Support developing training modules and resources for Directors, including video trainings
Support Elevate’s Finance Team with Invoices for Salesforce app and other finance and contract related workflows
Serve as a resource for teams when producing client Salesforce reports or funder lists, including training and trouble-shooting
Serve as Salesforce Admin for Elevate, set up new accounts across multiple apps (Conga, Cirrus Insight)
Support Elevate’s Client Partnership and Grant Writing departments with accurate transfer of information during team transitions, client onboarding, and client offboarding
Support Elevate’s Client Partnership team with developing calendar management deliverables for clients, as needed
Support Coordinators as they create and clone our clients’ annual grant calendars, which typically involves copying last year’s grant opportunities and updating them
Support Elevate with improving data integrity for all client data, which could include activities like developing funder naming conventions for common funders, reviewing common funder deadlines, instituting monthly or quarterly "data clean up" days to address Salesforce fields that are regularly neglected, or sending reminders to staff to update annual client data, etc.
Support the Executive and Operations teams with policies and decisions related to Salesforce and related apps
Send weekly and monthly reports to teams and staff (Weekly Updates, Weekly Wins, Issue Area reports, etc.)
Host weekly Data Management Office Hours
Setup, troubleshoot, and monitor the 10+ technology systems and subscriptions at Elevate
Train staff on Elevate’s technology platforms and troubleshoot technology questions
Serve as back-up on all operations and office related issues, as a member of Elevate’s Operations team
Ideal candidates will have:
Strong experience with Salesforce administration is required, including field creation, process creation, and profile administration
Strong technical skills and decision-making ability are required
Experience training staff or being a resource to other staff on data issues or a database is required
Proactivity and flexibility are required
Ability to work independently and on a team is required
Ability to serve as a resource to diverse staff, departments, and supervisors is required
Experience with Conga is desired, but not required
Experience with other apps for Salesforce is desired, but not required
Exposure to fundraising and/or the nonprofit sector is desired but not required
